Top Tips for Writing KILLER Cover Letters!
Please give me advice on my COVER LETTER for a govt job. I revised it! Any more suggestions?
In the past years of my undergraduate study, I have developed a passion for learning more about the United States government and its rich history. I want to be a part of all the change and action happening in our country. Double majoring in Political Science and History, along with my other experiences, has provided me with a full and balanced knowledge suitable for becoming an impressive congressional intern for Congressman Lloyd Doggett.
This year I volunteered with the Hays Country Democratic Party. There I played an important behind the scenes role as I worked to get Democrats elected through maintaining the office headquarters and performing assorted campaign tasks. Also, I have gained political and historical knowledge and experience through my academic career. I joined Pi Sigma Alpha, the Political Science Honors Society and took classes relating to public policy and constitutional law. Researching and writing my undergraduate honors thesis provided me with the special opportunity to be able to work closely with a Political Science professor. It has been very valuable to have an academic connection with someone in my field of interest.
My successful undergraduate career has led me to pursue a career with Lloyd Doggett. I am more than ready to begin to engage in more hands-on political processes. My eagerness to learn, my motivation to succeed and see others succeed, and my determined work ethic make me the best choice for a congressional intern. I am eager to work with Lloyd Doggett, as we have many views in common. I look forward to hearing from you very soon and am excited for the chance to work in upcoming congressional session.
How should a teen write a resume when they have no past job?
I’m applying for a job as a hostess at a resturant that is currently being built. They suggested that I do the online application, as it is more efficient. One of the fields on the application included a button that said ‘upload your resume.’ Most places don’t usually require a resume from teens, especially for jobs like hostessing. when I clicked the submit button, a window popped up and said that I must submit a resume.
I have no clue how to write one, or how to format one. I’ve babysat a couple of times, I have a 4.15 GPA and I’m ranked 11 of 398 other seniors, but how do I include that in my resume? Should I include it? What else should I include?
Thanks in advance.

How to best articulate interest in interview in cover letter?
I am a recent college graduate putting together my first cover letter; it is almost complete, but I’m not sure what the best way to phrase an expression of my interest in an interview is. I’ve looked at examples, but I don’t want to borrow their words and I don’t want to come off sounding as if I’m demanding (or begging for) an interview, either.
Any suggestions? What do you say when you write a cover letter? TIA!
