I am applying for a job in journalism for the first time and have some clips from a college newspaper. I have been told that it’s best to send the resume and clips via US mail because employers don’t like sorting through weblinks for clips. However, some job listings request resumes to be sent by e-mail. Two of my best clips have no weblink and are available electronically only via PDF files, which I am told Mac users cannot read. Many in journalism use Macs. Any advice on how to submit clips for positions requesting e-mailed resumes? Also, where do I type the weblinks – in the cover letter?? Do I mention in the cover letter that some clips are attached as PDFs?

I’m applying for a job at a company where I used to be a student worker (about 8 mths ago). Now I saw that they posted a position which I would be perfect for (since i’ve worked there), but I don’t know what to put in my cover letter.
Should just focus on mentioning the work i did when i was still there?
Or should I just briefly mention it and emphasize more on my education and other work experience?

I am applying for a job and they have asked as part of the application requirement to include "your desired salary with your application".
This is a bit scary as I do not know what to say, any advice? i’ve been cracking my brain on how to approach this and I have absolutely no clue as to how to go about this and tomorrow is the deadline to submit my application. what do I do/say?

I’m applying for a job online and there is an option to submit a cover letter. Would my chances of acquiring the job decrease without a cover letter?
Thank you so much!

I am applying for a job as an assistant at a legal service office. There previous experience requirements for it and they said it is perfect for college students. I have not a real job, except working for a petsitting service. I don’t have a resume or cover letter, andd don’t really know anything about them. Could you give any information you know about them and also if you know of any formats or templates for them that would be great to. Thanks!!!

I’m applying for a job at a university, and they only accept applications online. My question is this: If I upload a cover letter, how am I supposed to sign it? I printed a copy of it out, scanned it, and turned it into a PDF file, but the quality isn’t nearly as good as an unsigned one. What should I do? Would they be disappointed with the lower quality, or would they be impressed that I took the time to sign it?
